Laser Dentistry

When you are treated by Dr. Pippin he may use one or more lasers. Lasers provide safe and effective treatment for a wide range of dental problems, and they provide several advantages over conventional techniques. Lasers allow for minimal or no bleeding during surgical procedures. Post operative pain and swelling are minimal, and the use of sutures is minimzed or eliminated. Patients rarely have to take a narcotic pain medication following laser surgery. Lasers allow for the treatment of cavities painlessly, often without the need for local anesthetics or shots. Crowns in One Appointment

Dr. Pippin can provide most crowns in a single visit utilizing the CEREC system. The system utilizes CAD- CAM technology (computer aided design-computer aided milling) to fabricate crowns in the office without the need to employ an outside commercial dental laboratory. This means savings in time and potential discomfort for you.  Because your crown will be completed in a single visit there is no need to have a temporary crown placed or to return for a second visit for insertion of the final crown.

Cosmetic Imaging

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have whiter, straighter, more beautiful teeth?   Utilizing cosmetic imaging software, Dr. Pippin will select a smile design from the software smile library and paste it into your photo.  With your input the smile can be customized in order to enhance your unique facial characteristics. Then you can view the potential results of cosmetic dentistry prior to beginning treatment. Back to Top

Low Dosage Radiation

Computed Digital Radiography from Schick Technologies reduces your x-ray exposure up to 90%. Instead of using a film an electronic sensor is placed next to the teeth to be x-rayed. The sensor is much more sensitive to x-rays than conventional film. Therefore, the amount of radiation required can be reduced by up to 90%. Another advantage of Digital Radiography is reduction in the amount of time you spend in the dental chair. Because no films are processed, your x-ray image can be viewed on a computer screen within three seconds.

Computers in Dentistry

You will notice that every treatment room in Dr. Pippin's office has a computer in it. Computers in dentistry enable the dental team to instantly access and enter patient and insurance information. Computers enable the dental team to serve you more efficiently and reduce the amount of time you spend at the front desk checking out and scheduling appointments. An appointment can be entered into any computer in the office through our software from Dentrix Dental Systems. Computers also enable us to integrate newer technologies such as computed digital radiography and cosmetic imaging into our practice.Back to Top
